Some Catch Up

Yesterday I led our Jelly Roll Stroll at my local quilt group. This is one of the samples I made ahead of time, and it has actually been quilted now and needs binding.

With about 3 hours of sewing, most people got all their strips together end to end and did the first fold. There were a few that used only half a jelly roll and got it completely sewn together into a baby sized top.

This is the other sample I had available.

Both are about 50 by 60, give or take a few inches each way. Made from 1 jelly roll and the top one also has 39 squares added in.

I started a new scrap quilt, not something I needed to do. I have so many projects going currently.

And, I brought this lovely lady home with me a few nights ago, gifted by one of my daughter’s friends. It belonged to her grandmother and is one year younger than I am. It is headed to the shop today to get freshened up as no one has sewn with it in decades. It is in pristine condition though. I can’t wait to start sewing on her!

I am still working on getting 150 little stars made (see below) but haven’t counted lately so no idea how far behind I am.

    • It is a Sears Kenmore cam sewing machine from 1974. I picked it up from the shop and it sews beautifully but they forgot to check if it winds bobbins and it does not so back to the shop it goes this weekend. Loved sewing on it last night.
