We usually spend the day after Thanksgiving bringing in the Christmas cheer, but I have a medical procedure tomorrow that will leave me not feeling quite up to decorating on our regular schedule. So, with a lot of loving help from my daughter and husband, things went up yesterday. I am so relieved to get to relax and enjoy it now as we have a quiet Thanksgiving week of healing.

This tree has all the “Lovebird” ornaments on it that my husband and I have collected throughout our 30 years together. Yes, I know my angel is too big for that tiny tree, but she holds two lovely cardinals as well and I really wanted her on there. This spot usually holds a Hawaiian quilt, purchased on one of our many visits to the beloved islands. Christmas gives me the opportunity to take it down and get it gently laundered.

I am not sure that my puppy dog will ever forgive me for blocking his window access. He is still able to stick his nose up to the glass on the side there. But adding Christmas trees requires some maneuvering of furnishings in our already too crowded abode. That is the ceramic Christmas tree that my Grandmother made for my mother many, many years ago. They are so popular now but mine has been around for just about as long as I can remember.

Surprisingly, I was able to fit my nutcracker collection and my couple of nativities in my mother’s china cabinet.
It will prevent me from having to dust them throughout the season.

While I have not been able to find a lovebird ornament yet this season, I did succeed in finding this lovely helicopter at Michael’s. My son is a helicopter pilot so that one had to go on the tree.
The cat has just informed me it is time for her breakfast so I will leave you here with good wishes for a lovely week of family and Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for every moment I have with mine! Blessings to all!
Hope your procedure went well and you don’t feel too crappy to enjoy Thanksgiving. Your house looks very festive. Happy Thanksgiving.
