I have been slowly creating these zipper blocks from my scraps. When I am done cutting a fabric for a project, I cut the leftovers into 2.5 inch strips or squares so that I can use them as leaders and enders. I usually make four patches to be used in future projects. I can’t deal with having all sorts of different sizes of strips etc. They all become 2.5 inches unless it’s a large enough amount to save for a bigger project.
I am not sure where I first saw zipper blocks, but I have seen them all over the place as time has gone on. I think they are usually made with smaller pieces, but I had to make them fit with my stash of strips. Here are some instructions I threw together in case anyone wants to start making some of these.

I have a quilt design in mind. If I ever get the middle blocks done, then I will start on a bazillion four patches for the border. Then I was also thinking it would be fun to do a Christmas version…
I like your zipper blocks!
