Slow September

I haven’t made much progress on anything this month. However, I had a great time at my quilt retreat last weekend! Our class was a Stack & Whack, and I am so happy with how my ocean blocks came out. Now I am trying to get all the coping strips and borders to work out to get an actual quilt completed. I have a busy few days ahead though so might not make much progress…

The quilt retreat was in the Jemez Mountains of NM, close to where I grew up so it felt like going home.

We should really do it more often, it’s only about an hour and a half away. Why do we ignore things that refill our souls when it really would be an easy thing to do?

I did manage to get some quilting done earlier this week. I have about 5 quilts awaiting binding, and those are just the ones I can remember from recently. I assume there is a pile hiding somewhere that I will find, just to shake my head at myself!

And this quilt awaits my attention on the long arm. Maybe Sunday or Monday…

Those are Block Lotto Blocks from years ago and the quilt has been pieced and awaiting its turn for a long while. I have no idea what I will do with it. Red is not a color I have in my home, so it doesn’t have an intended destination.

I miss Block Lotto! My quilt guild is starting something similar though so maybe there is hope there….

I hope you all have a peaceful (pieceful) weekend! Get lots of sewing done! And enjoy something that soothes your soul!
