Holiday finishes

I managed to get my beachy Christmas quilt finished and hung this morning. I think it will be our final Christmas decoration for this year. I know it looks like I have empty shelves but those are the cat’s highway to the living room. When the dogs are loose in the house, she stays off the floor on our first level. She perches above them a tells them what peasants they are. Then, when they go to bed, she sneaks down and steals their kibble.

I finally went with some echo circles out from the medallion in the middle to give the wreath some depth. Then some rays that continue out from the star points. I am much happier with it than I expected to be.

I put this sweet bag together yesterday. I had a couple of firm placemat batts hanging around. Trimmed the end off of them and used them for the basic support under the green fabric so it is pretty sturdy. The other side is identical. The red is lined with the lights and is regular batting. It provides pockets on both sides. Then I looked at a few different places in town for a gingerbread button and found NOTHING. So, I will be keeping an eye out for one…

And, speaking of the cat, she had her yearly checkup this week. This is her, hiding under the sink at the vet office. She doesn’t do the vet very well and wanted nothing to do with the scale or any of that other stuff. I haven’t told her yet that we will be returning soon because she has a bad tooth…
