I can’t believe that it is the end of September! I have made a lot of progress on things this week and hope to have some finishes to show by the end of the day.

Here is the progress on my retreat quilt. I am a bit further along than at the time of this picture but still not quite ready to start the last border. Hope I have time for that later this week.

On today’s goal list is to get this baby bound so it is ready to show at my quilt group on Thursday. It has been an unloved UFO for many years and now that I have the quilting done, it is really growing on me. I found a big chunk of one of the reds I used, that I will use for the binding. It’s already cut and waiting at the sewing machine.

One of my long-time goals has been to learn how to crochet the edge of a blanket. So, when one of the community service women at my quilt guild asked for someone to do just that for some donation blankies, I grabbed two. I watched some videos and then dove in. It was so easy! I can’t believe I waited so long to try it. I will be grabbing some all the time now and maybe start some on my own projects. This baby blankie took just over an hour. The next one I did, with just the single crochet edge took less than an hour. I saw a video where a woman adds them to her quilts, and they are gorgeous! Might have to try that next.

Lots on the agenda today, including getting some table runners quilted and bound so I can gift one of them on Thursday.
I leave you with a picture of my fur babies as I head up to sew today. Mayzie would not get closer to her duplicate (purchased at Lowe’s), even with the temptation of roasted chicken. Cosmo, my big boy, would have cuddled with the thing if it got him another bite though.
Hoping to get back on track with sharing quilt patterns with you soon. And, if anyone wants to start a quilt block swap, let me know.
Adorable fur babies! You’ve made some nice progress on your projects π
